are there any types of safe natural testosterone supplements i can take for hormone replacement therapy? something my mom would approve of or anything you can find, that works,if there is any, and this is for transgender
barefoot_dragonfly replied: "You might try a consultation with a naturopathic doctor or a certified herbalist. There are plants that mimic the human body's hormones (such as soy being phyto-estrogenic - i.e. containing an ingredient that the body perceives as estrogen). An ND or herbalist can give you an idea of what dosages, products and options you have in the natural supplement world. Best of luck!"
James G replied: "Zinc increases the production of testosterone but I do not know if it is strong enough to assist the transgender process. Also, you cannot take to much of it. No more than 15mg a day."
Diane replied: "I'm sorry, but NO, there isn't,
There is no herbal supplement that will have ANY significant hormonal effect on the human body.
If you want hormone therapy for GID, you'll have to do it with a prescription from your doctor."
Ed Atun replied: "Nothing really works. Everyone tried goat testicles and that stuff but it doesn't work.."
Does anyone know of a natural alternative to the male hormone replacement gel androgel? This is for a medical condition that I am being treated for and I am looking for a natural vitamin or supplement that helps with low testosterone.
oldtimekid2 replied: "There are a couple ways to answer this, but I would check with a doctor before taking any of these to make sure they would be safe for you first.
That being said, there are a few natural products that help to support Testosterone production. Some of the big ones are DHEA (which your body converts into whichever sex hormone it needs), Tribulus, and a product I've seen called "Youth Tissue Extract" (which is from an egg ovum where the nutrients are). All of those can help with increasing Testosterone, but again, be sure to check with a doctor to make sure it would be safe for you and/or the proper doses. Good luck!"
Is there any natural way to increase your testosterone levels? I have been told mine are low for my age.? I eat well and exercise but have test results showing my testosterone levels are too low for my age group.
Would like to raise them naturally but if not, then maybe some replacement therapy or supplementation?
I just want to get them into the normal range, not higher than that.
Any input would be great!
Thanks
Tom
Johnny G replied: "If a doctor told you your testosterone was too low he can give you the treatments you need. Do take anything not prescribed by a doctor."
Brandon D replied: "I don't think there is a natural way to increase your testosterone levels"
John N replied: "talk to your doctor. you can go and get testosterone injections once a month. they really make a difference"
Kezza replied: "I've never heard of a testosterone injection from a doctor but it doesn't sounds like the best thing you could give to a boy that hasn't matured yet.
Tom, what you can do is go to your local supplementation store or maybe even Wal-mart medical section and check with the people working there if they carry "Pro-Hormones". It isn't testosterone, but it converts to that while in the body naturally. Much much safer."
bobs replied: "a herb called tribullus terristus....or close to that spelling.....working out help testosterone production as well"
Christopher D replied: "DUDE, there are thousands of testosterone booster product out there. Check out bodybuilding.com. They have tons of information and product. 11 oxo, Prime, T-bomb, Alpha dog, Stroked. jeez there too many to list. they also have forums that you can look at or you can ask a question in the forums and have professional bodybuilder to help you.DO NOT USE PRO-HORMONE. This is why you are better off asking people that know what they are talking about. Pro-hormones are DANGEROUS AND COULD SHUT DOWN YOUR BODY TESTOSTERONE PRODUCTION + GYNO, HAIR LOSS, LIVER DAMAGE, AND TO TOP IT ALL OFF IT IS NOT NATURAL so I have no clue why that knuckle head even suggested this to you."
hormone replacement-what would be the best choice for me? progestrone? testosterone cream? I am 20 yrs old had my ovaries removed at 16. I have not been on any kind of hormone replacement. I have no sex drive a lot of weight gain and so on. It has hit me that it must be (duh) the lack of hormones. Just wondering if someone can help me choose a natural over the counter option. Thank you!!!
Anna replied: "One common problem that happens is this. I have been there and done that. You have to figure out what it is first that is destroying your sex drive. If your on medication like birth control or anti-depressants that is something to think about and do research on. Other then that it could just be stress, maybe the kids, really anything that makes your life stressful can do this and lower the libido.
One thing I tried that seemed to work while I was doing it was exercising. I just felt sexier doing it which kind of boosted my libido. However it wasn't the best solution for me. My friend told me about these herbal enhancers that are made from natural herbs and don't cause any side effects besides having wild sex. She said it's the female version of viagra. I had to find out.
I would always have a weak orgasm too (if I had one at all), which after trying this sex enhancer, it boosted them tremendously. I don't get multiple orgasms but I've had plenty since being on these herbs. It's seriously like the best vibrator ride you've ever experienced. These things make me horny all the time, some days I don't even take them because the urge is just too strong.
Don't try out single herbs because they don't do it like the blend of herbs these scientists and researchers pick out. I've tried a couple of them by itself and they did crap. The stuff that I'm on is called Hersolution, at the time I saved money on it at herenhancement.com . Make sure you get the 3 month supply that way you fall under the guarantee/return policy if the herbs don't work for you, you can return them with no questions ask. I bet they will work though and you won't have any problems. Also if your on medication of any sort, check out the gel because if your like me, you wouldn't want to swallow any thing that might react with the medications your already on.
Well have a good day and hopefully you solved your problem."
Can hormone replacement therapy make you gain weight? My ovaries were removed in August and my doc prescribed EstraTest, which contains a bit of testosterone (he said it is natural for a 30yr old to have some). In a few weeks I started sprouting hairs on my chin so I asked for something without male hormone. I have been taking straight estrogen since and have been gaining weight like CRAZY! Could it be the hormones, or am I just pulling the wool over my own eyes?
Rocky W replied: "I've been on premarin for a few years and have no problem with weight gain. I have been on other types of meds that do make me gain weight but not the hormones. You could read your pharmacy packet and see if weight gain is a side effect of your drug or call your pharmacist and ask. Good luck."
aveenoitchybit replied: "The depo is a hormone shot and you gain weight with it. Alot of weight. So think about it."
Joseph replied: "As my doctor always says : Its not the hormones, its you. I have been on pure estrogen hormones for 18 years now. I lose or gain weight simply by eating less or more (sweets, starch etc). Its up to the woman herself to either control her eating habits or let go. Good luck."
Men on hormone replacement therapy (HRT) please tell me...? do you regret doing it? are there better ways to increase your testosterone levels? natural ways? Negative side effects? Are you concerned about the dangers? Does it really make a big difference in your mood, sex drive, penis function, etc? Thanks.
Sky replied: "Never start taking it:the side effects are worse then the benefits you get from it.
Regards:Sky."
I Know That replied: "I am 41 years old and have been on HRT for 6 years now. I use a gel that I apply to my arms every morning. I see no bad side effects. The advantages of HRT greatly out-weigh the dangers. Remember that you are only bringing your levels back to normal - not elevating them to a dangerous level. Your doctor will take many blood tests to make sure that your levels are in the normal range and not too high. I ask my doctor to do the blood tests about twice a year. HRT made a huge difference in my entire life. Ask your doctor what your levels are and what the normal range is. You will not regret HRT."
guy replied: "I'm in the same boat as "I Know That" because I've been using HRT for several years, too. I have never regretted it, as a matter of fact, it has made more manly than ever. I've gained a deeper voice, gained body hair where it never was before, have thicker body hair on arms and crotch areas, enhanced mood, & find I want sex more than when I was in my 20's. Occasionally a blood test reflects my T-level drops to 125 (normal 350-800) so I must, medically use prescribed gel on my arms and/or abdomen. Negative effects? If I forget to use the med, I get grouchy, moody, & refuse sex. Dangers? If I don't use it, I will fall back to the guy I don't want to be!! The other stuff you ask: my penis grew in length, my sex drive is constant. If you have been directed to do HRT, don't turn away from it. (BTW, Fidget told me to look for your question.)"
fidgit replied: "I've watched my friend on HRT change over the years. When he doesn't take his daily dose, I don't want to be around him after a few days. If you are in need of HRT, there are support groups to answer questions and people there, like you and me, for chat purposes."
is TRT medication or therapy? Would you class testosterone replacement therapy as (1) medication or (2) therapy ( as the name suggests!)
This treatment is to raise the levels of a person with low testosterone to normal levels same as everyone else.
testosterone is a natural hormone found in all healthy animals.
( depending on your definition its not a drug then)
ps, would a blood transfusion be seen as medication??? ( same sort of lines?)
Gary replied: "I'm really sorry but both medication and therapy are essentially the same.
To medicate is just 'to treat medically', and hence 'medication'. That is to treat by medical science, and not necessarily by the narrow term to treat with a medicine or medicament.
Therapy, is 'curative medical treatment'. Again this does not necessarily mean with a medicine
Testosterone replacement therapy could just as well be called Testosterone replacement medication.
With regard to a blood transfusion, again it could be referred to as either. I totally accept that in most people's mind, a blood transfusion is not thought of as being given a medicine, and it isn't. However it is a medical treatment, and so fits either of the above terms.
Unfortunately common usage is often at variance with the formal dictionary definition, and of course the language and its usage is continually evolving. This is where confusions arise, and makes your question entirely valid."
Are u a Tribulus Terrestris user? I was diagnosed with low Testosterone levels but I don't really want to get put on Testosterone Replacement Therapy, however I heard that Tribulus Terrestris is a natural and very effective Testosterone booster with little to no side effects.
If you are a Tribulus Terrestris user would you please share with me about what this supplement has done for you?
And also what brand name would you recommend?
Big fella replied: "there is not a lot of evidence that supports tribulus as improving testosterone but it can't hurt you to try!
most of the brands are ok - I would not go for the high costing ones as you are usually paying for the name only"
Why does everyont think that steroids will make a guys penis shrink or get smaller? NOT TRUE! Why does everyone think that a guys penis will shrink if he takes steroids?? SERIOUSLY. When you take steroids, you are replacing your natural testosterone (endogenous) with steroids (exogenous). This causes your natural testosterone to shut down, and to eventually stop producing any. Its a part of HOMEOSTASIS. Your body balances it out. This results in increased estrogen as well since testosterone aromatizes to estrogen. IF you do not take a proper ancillary (arimidex, aromasin) to control your estrogen levels, you will lose some sensitivity to your penis. If you DONT TAKE HCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) along with the exogenous test (steroids) then your BALLS will shrink, since that is where you normally and naturally produce testosterone, and now you arent. It does NOT affect the size of your penis!!!! Some people have "limp penis" from being shut down completly. Throw in some test and your good! HRT people - Hormone Replacement Therapy. Look it up! Steroids dont shrink your penis!!!!
The Answer King replied: "whoever thinks that is wrong, because it's your balls that shrink"
Jeremy W replied: "What's the question? Personally, and I spend quite a bit of time around body builders, I've never heard of steroids shrinking the penis. Balls yes, penis no."

We work with the physician to tailor a dose and a specific product for a patient," Stan Loomis said in a marketing video posted on
In a 2005 company profile published in the Orlando Business Journal, Loomis attributed Signature's rapid growth - from $550 000 in sales in 2000 to $21 million in 2005 - to sales of injected human growth hormones prescribed by doctors as an anti-aging remedy. "Traditional medicine is a big part of our business - but it doesn't give the financial reward that customized medicine does," Loomis told the business journal in 2005.

The company at the heart of the investigation is Orlando-based Signature Pharmacy, which has reported booming sales of hormones as an anti-aging treatment.
