How do i use Clomid and Pregnyl, Can someone give me instructions? I have been prescribed Clomid and Pregnyl. I know im suppose to use them both but im not sure how and at what time as well as when I should start having sex. Please give me step by step instuctions..Thanks

tracey r replied: "you are best to contact the doctor that give them to you they would have give you times and how much to have"

Vicky replied: "I agree -- you really need to get clear instructions because every person's dose of Clomid is different, they get put on a different sequence (I was on CD5-9; you need to know which you're on) and there might be dangerous contraindications with the Pregnyl. Ask them to tell you over the phone and you write it down, or go and get them to write it down for you. This is not something that you need to be messing with -- Clomid can have nasty side effects, OK? Good luck!"

If you were successful with clomid the first time, did you have to use it a second time too? I was successful with clomid after using it for the first time on the lowest dose. My baby is 8 months old, and we are planning to have another one when my son turns 2. I was wondering if I would have to use clomid to conceive my second child? Is there anyone here who had to use clomid a second time, or did it happen naturally the second time around?

Tatie replied: "I did it naturally the first time. My daughter is 8 months old. (4/3/07) I've been trying since her birth. Not successful. Now I'm on metformin. If that doesn't work, the dr wants to put me on clomid. I have PCOS. I think you could go either way. Naturally or with clomid. Its hard to say until you start trying. Good luck."

MT624 replied: "You shouldn't have to use it, if your body begins to ovulate like it should. I'm currently using clomid to get pregnant but unfortunately I didn't get pregnant on the first try."

lunar_magick123 replied: "My mother in law tried to get pregnant for a while. They finally put her Clomid and she got pregnant on the first round. 2 1/2 months after she had her daughter, she got pregnant with her son (my hubby) on accident. I've heard that a woman is extremely fertile after she gives birth though...so that may have been the case. Good Luck when you start trying for another!"

when do i start to take clomid? Is it safe to use it near to when your period is due? I just got some clomid, i read that it's taken from day 2 of your cycle for 5 days and again mid cycle, i just wondered if it possible to use it near to when your period is due if you havent detected ovulation. Any help on this will be appreciated.

p_l_gray replied: "There is a name on the bottle.... the guy/girl who prescribed it... You really should be asking them. Hmmmmm I think I'll ask a bunch of know nothing goobers on Yahoo Answers about a fertility medication that 99.9% of them have never even heard of. Screw my doctor... what do they know. Grumpy bum... hardly, the person writing the prescription assumes responsibility for that drug. If she takes it on the advice of some nit wit on the internet and has a complication, then the physician writing the prescription is still liable. Has nothing to do with being grumpy.... it has everything to do with practicing medicine in a litigious society such as ours. Unless of course you are willing to put your license, reputation and career on the line for the advice you gave her....."

marliboco replied: "I know you want to get going on it, but you really should take from day 2 - 5 of your cycle. Your poor ovaries won't know what the heck is going on otherwise. And Grumpy bum above should realise that sometimes people with experience of using a drug can be helpful as well as physicians!!"

mommy_2_liam replied: "When I was on clomid I was to take it day 5-9 of my cycle...you may want to re-check with your DR"

How many pregnancies can you use clomid with? I used clomid to conceive my first child and now we want another one, is there a limit to the number of pregnancies you can use clomid with?

ASH replied: "I don't think so... My friend used it with both of her pregnancies. She had an IUI with her first son and then had to have IVF with her twins. She did use Clomid both times. Good Luck and God Bless..."

Kelly replied: "No, I don't think so. Many women don't ovulate and use it to conceive - I guess it comes down to how many children you want in your family. I have 3 daughters - 2 were with Clomid born 17 months apart. By the way I conceived cycle one with DD1 and cycle two with DD2. Both were days 2-6, 50mg. Good Luck!-"

Can I use clomid during the menses cycle being on birth control pills? Since I'm on birth control can I use clomid,DId it work for others? I would like to get pregnant

Polo Girl replied: "Why would you do that?"

Rocker Wife replied: "I'm sorry, but WHY would you use birth control pills AND Clomid?? That's like taking a laxative AND a stool hardener. If you want to get pregant, stop taking birth control pills. That should do it."

lizyoka replied: "if u want to get pregnant, you should come off the pill first and allow your body to come back, this could take up to six months. i don't think u need clomid yet cos u could get pregnant striaght when u stop the pill. good luck"

Is it safe to use Clomid (or any other type of fertility drug) while breastfeeding? I have a five month old daughter, and I had to use Clomid to get pregnant with her. We want to have another baby within a few months from now. Will it be safe to use since I am breastfeeding her?

Tara662 replied: "I wouldn't take any medication since it all goes into your breast milk and to the baby."

Brian A replied: "Well, if you want another baby in a few months then it is already too late. Seriously, some women don't ovulate at all during breastfeeding. Has your period returned? Regarding the Clomid, you really should be relying on the advice of a doctor rather than random strangers on the internet."

daywanderer69er replied: "i would say no, as everything you take the baby takes too, if you need this speak to you gp and he or she will help you but if you only want it and not need it i would suggest waiting, i may be wrong though so speak to your gp... good luck"

Can I use my Clearblue Easy Fertility Monitor while on Clomid? I'm starting clomid on my next cycle and the instructions from my doctor say to use the fertility sticks, and I didn't even think to ask her if i could use the monitor. Anyone have any luck using it while on clomid? Thanks!

anne h replied: "You can use your monitor while on clomid, but there is a risk of your monitor picking up extra hormone levels due to the clomid even when you are not ovulating, since your monitor is used to your regular levels. When I was on clomid, I used both the monitor and the digital clear blue ovulation tests. They both turned positive on the same days. However, my doctor told me to use both. You can use the pee sticks that come with your monitor for the digital clear blue ovulation tests. The digital test is much better than the line tests. The line tests, you have to determine if the test line is as dark or darker than the control line. This may sound easy, but it is actually really hard to determine some times. With the digital, there is a smiley face if you are ovulating and an empty circle if you are not. It is fool proof. Good luck and lots of baby dust to you!"

mistideveau replied: "I have been using the clearblue easy fertility monitor for 5 months. This month was the first cycle of clomid. The monitor says that I ovulate at day 18...which is horrible. This month on clomid it is day 15 and it is at a high reading and has been for 2 days. I charted my temperatures with fertilityfriend.com and it interpreted that I ovulated at day 10...which is what I used to ovulate at with my 2 children. I think that the clearblue monitor definetly gets screwed up while on clomid...or maybe I am wishfully thinking? LOL. I never had a problem with ovulating before...like I said...I ovulated at day 10 but since the loss of my infant daughter...the trama of it has screwed with my fertility. I hope to get a BFP this month!"

What is the easiest ovulation test to use while on clomid? My dr. has prescribed me clomid which will be my first cycle. I am curious to know which ovulation test works best and would be easiest to read the results? Any advice would be great!

Amy replied: "They never worked for me, but they do for many. I would recommend a name brand... any of the major brands. I would also suggest that you chart as that can also give you a very good idea of what your body is doing. Having multiple things to monitor your cycle, is a great way to know for sure."

Need baby dust replied: "Get the digital!! They are so much easier to read! My advice is to to hold going to the bathroom and drinking anything for 2 hours before you take your test. You should take your test in the afternoon or early evening. I took mine when I got home from work. I set reminders in my phone telling me "don't pee" then later it would remind me to "take a test". Don't worry if you do not get a positive b/c you might have just missed the surge. If you do get a positive have sex for the next 3 days and keep your hips elevated after sex for 30 to 45 min!!! Good luck to you!!"

lmpavao replied: "Your doc should be setting you up with ultra sounds to see if you have any maturing follicles than when you do have one which should be at least 18 in size he should prescribe an ovidrel shot which helps release the egg and you know exactly when to have intercourse. At least that's what I did. And I go back on the 22 for a blood pregnancy test. I don't understand how doctors are putting patients on fertility meds and not watching there progress"

What happen after someone stops using clomid, i have use clomid for 3 round and after that i stop, but after? that i had menstruated for 2 periods atfer that and this last one i tried to chat my ovulation only to discover that i did not ovulate.i have been trying to conceive and my Dr sugested that i use clomid thinking that i was not ovulating but at the long run we discovered that i have been ovulating so he said i should stop it, but now that i stoped it i did not ovulate again. do it mean that if u discontinue clomid one will not ovulate normally again.

pauline j replied: "Like you I was on clomid, but for five cycles. I stopped using it because I did not get pregnant and the side affects i.e. hot flashes and mood swings were too much for my partner. However now I watch my body's fertility signals more closely and from doing this I notice the EWCM every month during days 10 - 14. Thus I think I am ovulating. I am ttc without clomid so I suggest that you watch your body's fertility signs closely and you may find that you are ovulating. Sometimes the chart may be wrong and you still may be ovulating. Good Luck!"

~*~California Momma~*~ replied: "you should take a break every 3 cycles on clomid to prevent hyper stimulation of the ovaries. after a month or two rest, try it again. If you still don't get pregnant after 3 more rounds on clomid, look at a different alternative. just because it looks like you're not ovulating on paper, doesn't mean that your not ovulating at all...you should have a fertility specialist look over your charts. you may be ovulating sooner or later in your cycle and you may not even realize it. try using OPK's with your charting too. there is a brand (Answer, i think) that makes a 31 day kit, and its reasonably inexpensive, around $20. Good Luck!"

chiquita11 replied: "hmmm this is an interesting one, maybe your body is re-adjusting to now not having Clomid (like getting off birth control) but that's only a guess, now the question is, if the dr. said to stop the clomid, did they give you anything else instead to help u conceive? cause if it's not ovulation then they gotta find the problem to help you, try talking to an RE (fertility specialist) as well, you can ask one online for free and see what they think trry good luck!"

What do you think about use N Clomid To get prego Faster? My Cousin Is trying for a baby number 2 and her and her husband Bought Clomid and expect to get prego right away do you think it will work? They started taking it 3 days ago. Will they have to buy more then a 30 day supply?

brandess21 replied: "Took my friend two months with clomid then again, she had one ovary, and he had a low sperm count."

julied1296 replied: "Clomid only increases the odds of getting pregnant if you have ovulation issues according to my specialist. I did get pregnant on my first month of Clomid but it is not all that common from what I hear. I was being monitored a lot by my doctor because you can overstimulate your ovaries on this med and cause problems. You only take it for 5 days of the month but there is no real way of knowing whether they will need more than one months worth."

Janie awaits the stork replied: "I would not recommend taking Clomid if they do not have fertility issues!! They could end up with sextuplets or something. I seriously hope that they consulted a doctor. If they did not, then they really should."

Nikki replied: "I know that if you are TTC and you don't have fertility problems, then you could end up with multiples. Tell them to check with their doc Before taking the meds."
